Dr. Priscilla Butler (she/her) is a PsyPact Licensed Clinical Psychologist with broad clinical experience who creates an affirming therapy environment for diverse individuals and presenting concerns, while also providing training and supervision for future psychologists. As a founding member of JPC, Dr. Butler is a trusted thought partner within our leadership team, ensuring that our growth and services reflect the highest standards of clinical excellence, ethics, and inclusive and compassionate care.

Dr. Butler earned her Master of Arts and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology (ISPP), Chicago, along with a Master of Fine Arts in Writing & Publishing from Emerson College and a B.A. from Vassar College. As part of her graduate psychology training, she completed a fellowship in psychoanalysis, reflecting her deep appreciation for the psychoanalytic tradition.

Most frequently, Dr. Butler works with adults who have not yet felt well understood by the mental health professions, specializing in supporting clients encountering transition from emerging adulthood through retirement. This includes managing loss, navigating exciting change processes, or focusing on shifts within important relationships.

In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, she creates a highly personalized approach tailored to each person’s individual needs and personal strivings. She believes that while no one can change difficult experiences of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in the present, helping clients move beyond merely surviving to truly thriving.

Dr. Butler believes that health involves ongoing development and balance across biological, psychological, interpersonal, and societal planes, describing her favorite definition of health as “a flourishing condition.”
