Therapy
Come as you are. Grow with support.
We provide psychotherapy for adults, children, adolescents, and families. Our work is collaborative, relationship-centered, evidence-based, and tailored to your needs—supporting healing, growth, and resilience through talk therapy, play therapy, and mind/body–informed approaches.
Therapy for Adults
Individual therapy is an opportunity
for adults of all ages, backgrounds, and identities to work one-on-one with a clinical psychologist or psychotherapist to address personal challenges, strengthen coping and resilience, process difficult experiences, and create the changes you want to see in your life. We start by building trust and safety, attuning to your needs, and exploring what matters to cultivate the healing and growth you deserve.
We commonly support adults with:
- Depression that affects energy, motivation, or joy
- Anxiety that interferes with daily functioning or exhausts you internally
- Trauma, including complex trauma and transgenerational trauma
- Relationship issues, including romantic, social, and familial
- Life transitions and adjusting to major changes
- Loss and grief, including complex grief
- Identity and sexuality exploration
- Confidence, self-worth, and resilience development
- Career stress, transitions, and work-life balance struggles
Whether you’re navigating a specific challenge or simply seeking extra support to live with more balance and resilience, we are here to help.
Therapy for Teens
Adolescence is a time of tremendous growth and transition
–socially, emotionally, physically, and academically. As teens navigate these changes and challenges, supportive adult guidance can make all the difference. We are here to help.
We provide a safe, confidential space where teens can explore their experiences with the support of therapists specializing in adolescent development and mental health. Our focus is on strengthening confidence, resilience, and emotional regulation, while also respecting your teen’s growing independence and capacity for mature thinking.
We commonly support teens with:
- Depression, anxiety, irritability, and mood swings
- Emotional regulation and coping
- Identity development, self-esteem, and body image concerns
- Relationship struggles, social anxiety, peer pressure, and bullying
- Social media use, safety, and critical thinking
- Trauma and posttraumatic growth
- Academic stress and performance anxiety
We partner with parents and provide guidance, while honoring your teen’s need for autonomy and privacy so they can fully benefit from the therapeutic process. Whether your teen is facing a specific challenge or could benefit from extra support during these formative years, we are here to help.
Therapy for Kids
Childhood is a profound developmental journey of rapid growth, exploration, and change
—and it can also bring challenges that feel overwhelming for children and the adults who care for them. We understand the complexity of this developmental period and meet children where they are, supporting them as they learn to navigate big emotions, relationships, and the demands of their growing world.
At the heart of our work is helping children build confidence, emotional regulation, and resilience. Through a warm, attuned, and developmentally informed approach, we support children in strengthening their sense of agency and capacity to navigate big feelings, relationships, and everyday challenges.
Since children communicate most naturally through play, we use Play Therapy
allowing them to explore their experiences at their own pace, using creativity and imagination to express feelings that may be difficult to put into words. Through play therapy techniques, we help children explore their struggles and strengths, understand their own feelings and thoughts, and process difficult experiences to make sense of their past and cope better with their future. This process strengthens emotional regulation and builds coping strategies in a way that feels safe and engaging.
We commonly support children with:
- Emotion regulation and coping skills
- Anxiety, worries, and fears
- Social skills, peer relationships, and confidence
- Behavioral challenges and impulse control
- Processing difficult or confusing experiences
Effective child therapy also involves meaningful collaboration with caregivers. Our attachment-focused approach creates a genuine partnership that allows both children and their parents to feel safe and supported on this journey of growth, with expert guidance at every step.
Parent Guidance & Family Therapy
Parenting is a dynamic and evolving experience
—one shaped by connection, challenge, and continual learning. As children grow and change, parents are asked to grow alongside them, often navigating uncertainty and new questions about how best to support their child’s development. At Journey Psychology Center, we walk alongside parents in that process, offering guidance, insight, and support so you can feel more confident, connected, and equipped to help your child thrive.
Our work with parents and families is grounded in a deep understanding of child development, attachment, and family systems. We partner with you to better understand your child’s emotional world, consider old patterns that make parenting more difficult, strengthen relationships, and navigate challenges with clarity and compassion.
We commonly support parents with:
- Strengthening your parenting approach and parent-child bond
- Understanding and supporting your child’s growth and functioning
- Interrupting patterns from the past that make co-regulating big emotions and behaviors more difficult
- Developing a deeper understanding of the “why” behind your child’s behaviors, struggles, and big feelings
- Helping you feel confident and intentional in your parenting and in advocating for your child
Whether working with parents individually or with the entire family together, we help foster understanding, support healthy communication, and cultivate lasting growth for both children and caregivers.

Trauma Therapy & Integrated EMDR
Healing from trauma is possible.
We see therapy as a place of refuge where healing takes flight.
Whether you survived a life-threatening experience or live with the effects of complex trauma from emotional neglect, abuse, oppression, or prolonged adversity—your pain tells a story, and we are here to listen.
Traumatic stress can become ‘stuck’ in the nervous system, shaping how we feel, think, and engage long after the distressing experience has passed. Trauma can affect our sense of safety, our relationships, our executive functioning, and our ability to feel present in our own lives. At JPC, we offer a thoughtful, relationship-centered approach to trauma healing that honors your unique story and pace.
What is EMDR?
EMDR is an evidence-based therapy that helps distressing experiences no longer feel as intense, intrusive, or overwhelming. Rather than relying solely on talking through past events, EMDR uses rhythm to help the nervous system process and integrate traumatic memories in a way that promotes resolution and emotional relief. Because the neurobiology of growth and healing deeply depends on relationships, we integrate EMDR within the broader therapeutic process grounded in the safety and trust of the therapeutic relationship rather than applying a rigid, limited-session model. In this way, therapy attends to symptoms along with the relational and emotional echoes from the past that shape how trauma is held in the body and mind—while allowing space for release, insight, integration, and growth to unfold at your own pace.
Taking this step toward trauma recovery puts you on the path to reclaiming your power and peace. We see your quiet courage and are here to walk with you—every step of the way.
