Dr. Pia Goff (she/her), known warmly as Dr. Pia, brings nearly 20 years of experience in mental health to her clinical work with adults and couples as a clinical psychotherapist and sex therapist at JPC.

Dr. Pia earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and completed her predoctoral internship at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s and Roosevelt Hospitals in New York City, training at the Addiction Institute of New York and the Center for the Intensive Treatment of Personality Disorders. She’s a proud “Illini” with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and she received specialized training from the Marital and Sex Therapy Department at Rush University Medical Center.

Renowned for her insightful, “no-nonsense” approach, Dr. Pia specializes in guiding individuals and couples through struggles with relationships, sexuality, and complex trauma. She provides trauma-informed therapy with specific training in Prolonged Exposure Therapy, while also offering comprehensive sex therapy services and neuropsychological assessment. She’s passionately committed to empowering Black women to balance their inner healing unapologetically with their professional and personal lives.

Her approach is collaborative, affirming, and grounded in each person’s unique lived experience, believing that healing takes place when patients feel deeply seen and respected. Beyond clinical practice, she maintains an engaging media presence and is passionate about spreading awareness and breaking down the complexities of relationships, sex, and mental health topics into accessible insights.
